NOLA

Unlike so many others, what`s Surbag™ remains dedicated to their product being made in the USA. And what better place than New Orleans? After Hurricane Katrina devastated parts of the city of New Orleans, Sue Princiotto decided that she would do whatever possible to give back. Thanks to what`Surbag™ and its-laS-tik®, a city affected by an environmental crisis can now play a major part in eliminating another.

To remain committed to providing work to residents of New Orleans, and in an attempt to put money back into a struggling and deserving economy, almost every aspect of the product is outsourced to New Orleans natives. The bags are manufactured in a factory run by a New Orleans native and survivor of Hurricane Katrina, and even the packaging and labels are created and distributed by a business established in New Orleans in 1948.

what`Surbag™ and its-laS-ti®k have partnered with Hope House as an additional means of giving back to the New Orleans community; a percentage of all sales will be donated to Hope House. Hope House and its-laS-tik® have also partnered to provide work to the underprivileged community in New Orleans, allowing them to give back as well. If/when you send your its-laS-tik® bags back to what`Surbag™ , the recycled bags will be re-created as rag rugs and other products, giving its-laS-tik® a second life.

Hope House is a non-profit organization founded in 1969 by two Roman Catholic nuns and depends solely on grants and donations to continue their work of charity and justice. Their programs include but are not limited to: Emergency rent, food and shelter assistance, after-school youth programs, adult learning programs, prison ministry and workshops on poverty and justice.
